How do the adjustable force gas struts work?
All standard, shrouded, multi-positional and stainless-steel gas struts are available in a VARI‐LIFT version which can be adjusted to meet individual preferences.
The gas struts are charged to their maximum force during the manufacturing process and using the tool provided, gas can be gradually released via the VARI‐LIFT valve at the end of the tube to provide the force suited to your application. Once the correct force has been established, we can measure this level of pressure and provide production fixed force gas springs that are all pre-set to your precise requirements.
Although theoretical forces can be calculated with good accuracy, what can’t be calculated are factors such as hinge friction and the customer’s perceived speed of action. This is where the Vari-Lift option comes in.
