For applications which are found in harsh environments, our Stainless Steel gas struts give increased corrosion‐resistance, drastically improving the life cycle over gas springs manufactured in mild steel. Our standard range – the Swift and Sure – is the more common choice when considering Stainless Steel, our options are included below:
Gas Spring Size Range | Range of Stroke Lengths (in 5mm increments) | Range of Tube Lengths (in 1mm increments) | Force Range (in 10 Newton increments) | Thread Type (M) |
6-15 | 40-200 | 75-230 | 50-400 (11-90lbs) | M5 x 0.8 |
8-18 | 40-300 | 85-345 | 100-650 (22-146lbs) | M6 x 1.0 |
10-23 | 40-400 | 85-445 | 150-1200 (34-269lbs) | M8 x 1.25 |
14-28 | 40-500 | 95-555 | 200-2500 (45-562lbs) | M10 x 1.5 |
Manufactured in 316L stainless steel, these gas springs have been subjected to over 1000 hours of salt spray testing. They are made with a specially‐prepared chrome‐plated rod surface finish for additional hardness and protection against high levels of corrosion – ideally suited for use in harsh environment applications such as marine engine covers, doors, hatches, plus applications requiring high levels of cleanliness like the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries.
