Carbon steel rods are manufactured from low alloy steel bar in accordance with BS EN 10083-2, ground to give the required surface texture and nitride finish. Stainless steel rods are manufactured from 316L grade stainless steel and chrome plated.
Carbon steel tubes are manufactured from low alloy welded precision steel tube in accordance with BS EN 10305-2. Stainless steel tubes are manufactured from 316L grade stainless steel.
Carbon steel surfaces are black epoxy powder coated as standard to give enhanced resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
Lubrication and damping is achieved with a commercial grade mineral oil.
The power behind the gas spring is provided by a charge of high purity Nitrogen.

- Zinc eyes are produced from commercial grade die cast zinc.
