RoHS 3 and WEEE Declaration
The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive and the WEEE (Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment) directive affect electrical and electronic products sold into the EU market restricting the use of specific substances. To the best of our knowledge all CMCL products currently in production are compliant with the Directives listed above and do not contain any of the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs). According to our upstream supplier information, our products either do not contain, or do not exceed the legislative thresholds (or exemptions listed thereof) of any of the substances published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). Additionally, gas springs manufactured by CMCL are not considered to be electric or electronic equipment (EEE) products as defined in the directive as they are not ‘dependant on electrical current or electromagnetic fields for at least one intended function’.
Under the definition of the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulations EC1907/2006, products made by CMCL are considered to be articles. An article means an object which during manufacture is given a unique shape, surface or design which determines its function more than its chemical composition. Under the current regulations, articles do not require pre-registration or registration. As downstream users of substances and preparations, we have contacted our suppliers and confirmed that they are compliant with the REACH regulation.

The End of Life Vehicle (ELV) directive restricts the use of specific hazardous substances (Lead, Cadmium, Mercury and Hexavalent Chromium). Only Lead, used as an alloying element, is present within Camloc gas springs and falls below the maximum allowable level of 0.1%.
