Signage and Monitor Arms

Signage Solutions Gas Struts

From digital advert displays to large passenger information displays, motion control solutions are an essential part of signage projects that are often overlooked until late on in the project.

Our standard range of gas struts and dampers are well-suited to a range of signage applications. Our expert team of highly skilled engineers will work closely with you to determine the best option for your requirements, and tailor bespoke solutions if you require them.

Motion control solutions are an essential, but unfortunately often overlooked, part of signage projects. From digital advert displays to large passenger information projects, these solutions have a crucial role to play in the overall success of an application.

At Camloc Motion Control, our standard range of gas struts and dampers are well-suited to a wide variety of signage applications. What separates us from the competition is that our team of highly skilled engineers are committed to both you and your project, and will work closely with you to determine the best solution for your requirements. No two projects or engineering briefs are the same, and is why we tailor our solutions each and every time.

We specialise in the design and creation of made-to-order products as we have full control of the manufacturing process from our UK base. This allows us to maintain our high and exacting standards when faced with continuous innovation within digital media and signage.

Working with industry-based design engineers, we are able to develop easily adjustable monitor arms to suit our client’s specific needs. Our multi-positional gas spring counter balances the weight of the screen, offering smooth single-handed operation.

In many cases, gas springs and dampers are one of the last things to be considered when designing, creating and testing an application. Our team of dedicated engineers will work with you to find the best possible solution. We’ll take the time to consider the risks or consequences of each solution, meaning we can prevent the slamming of heavy panels to provide extra safety to the operator, which is a common requirement when servicing and maintaining ATMs or kiosks.

Where gas springs can be found within the signage sector

Despite being an often-overlooked application for gas springs and dampers, there is a wide variety of ways these solutions can be used within the signage sector.

  • Maintenance access for Rail Passenger Information Display Systems (Stop & Stay+)
  • LED displays
  • TFT displays
  • Across rail, bus, tram, subway and airports.
  • Wall mounted systems (Friction Locking Compression Struts– Stop & Stay / Stop & Stay+)
  • In-vehicle adjustable displays and monitor arms
  • Self-service kiosks (Fixed Force Compression Gas Struts – Swift and Sure)
  • Indoor/outdoor payment kiosks
  • Freestanding kiosks
  • Cash Dispenser/ATMs (Fixed Force Compression Gas Struts – Swift and Sure)

How our products work in the signage sector

At Camloc, we understand the vast number of potential applications which can be found within digital media and signage. We have taken the time to ensure we can offer a wide range of gas springs that enable simple yet effective design and manufacturing. In doing so, we are able to provide a wide variety of innovative solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers.

Econoloc

Factoring in safety and ease-of-use for the end-user is crucial on signage applications, because indoor and outdoor digital totems tend to open outwards when being serviced. Our positively locking gas spring, the Econoloc, eliminates the need for separate safety rods because Econoloc only releases when pressure is applied to the designated area of the shroud. This means it will protect the operator from potential injury due to overload or misuse.

With more than 30 years of industry experience in the world of engineering and manufacturing, we understand that safety and mobility when using our solutions are two of the biggest priorities in the majority of projects.

For example, when creating a solution that is suitable for use at ATMs, the safety of the user is one of the main factors that must be considered from design to delivery. Our Econoloc has proven to be the optimal solution because it is a positively locking gas spring, providing added safety over a standard gas spring due to the locking shroud which is fitted to the spring. This added safety feature ensures that the gas spring cannot be closed unless the shroud is unlocked, ideal for those working within ATMs.

We have experience working with industry-leading kiosk manufacturers to develop motion control solutions for touch-point kiosks, which are becoming more common-place. To minimise the risk of injury while opening out the kiosk face, our standard Swift and Sure acts as a lift assist to take the strain away from the end-user.

Stop and Stay

The workplace around us is constantly changing and we are now seeing more and more desk-mounted monitor arms and multi-screen workstations. Ease of use when manoeuvring screens is imperative. The Stop and Stay range contain solutions that are ideal when considering motion control solutions for monitor arms. This solution is able to provide adjustable friction control, the lock-nut is adjusted to suit the application’s weight and provide the correct level of support. This applies a ‘stick-slip’ friction to the rod which, once fitted, allows finger-tip movement to any position required.

Our clients’ experience working with us is one of our highest priorities, which is why our Stop and Stay+ range comes with an internal pre-set friction control valve. These gas springs enable multi-positional holding of a counter-balanced weight without the need for manual adjustment. By pre-setting the specially-designed internal friction valve to your application’s weight, it makes the Stop and Stay+ range extremely easy to fit.

At Camloc Motion Control, we only use materials of the highest quality because, combined with our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, it means we can confidently state our superior product quality is what sets us apart from our competitors. Our 316L Stainless Steel option is also indicative of this, providing extra corrosion resistance for passenger and display systems found in harsher environments.
