They are manufactured and distributed in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU(1). Camloc gas springs and hydraulic dampers filled with gas can be used safely as defined by this directive.
Camloc gas springs and hydraulic dampers stay below the limit values in article 4 (1) a) i) of the directive for pressure and volume. Thus, they meet article 4 (3) of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and are designed and manufactured in accordance with the sound engineering practice of the member state in which they are produced.
The fluids in their construction are fluids of group 2 according to the classification in article 13 of the directive.
Camloc gas springs and hydraulic dampers are characterised according to article 4 (3) by means of which the manufacturer can be determined and warnings which refer to the possible high internal pressure and resulting dangers. As such Camloc gas springs and hydraulic dampers shall not bear the CE marking referred to in article 18 of the directive.
Camloc gas springs and hydraulic dampers do not fall under the machinery guidelines 98/37/EG or 2006/42/EG.
It is the sole responsibility of the customer or user to verify whether Camloc gas springs and hydraulic dampers used in the end-product meet national or international laws and guidelines.
