Discover the capabilities of our fixed force stainless steel compression gas struts
Our gas springs are constructed from high-grade 316L stainless steel and have been subjected to more than 1,000 hours of salt spray testing. They also feature a specially-prepared chrome-plated rod surface finish for added durability, ensuring optimal performance even in the toughest conditions.
These gas springs are designed to effortlessly and safely lift heavy weights, making them ideal for a variety of applications. You’ll find them on vehicles, machine guards, access panels, lockers, and lids. But the uses for our Swift and Sure range are virtually limitless.

Discover the inner workings of fixed force stainless steel compression gas springs
When you need something to be lifted, held open, or counterbalanced in a specialized environment, these gas struts are the perfect solution. They function like compression springs, providing a controlled rate of movement with a small change in force as they extend. To ensure smooth operation, an oil damping zone slows down the extension speed at the end of the stroke. This design feature not only provides constant force but also protects hinges and mounts with a damped end of travel.
The use of 316L stainless steel opens up a world of possibilities for demanding applications and environments, each with their own unique requirements. Stainless steel gas struts offer greater design flexibility compared to other manufacturing processes, allowing for the creation of larger (or smaller) gas struts. In fact, we can manufacture struts over 2m in length. Food-grade oil is often specified for use in food manufacturing environments to ensure compliance with industry regulations. Moreover, non-magnetic materials can be incorporated for applications in the medical sector, where MRI and X-ray compatibility is crucial.
