Transport forms an integral part of our daily lives and, for many, rail networks make it possible to travel large distances easily and efficiently.
Rail travel would not be possible without the use of gas struts, shocks and dampers within this sector. From train interiors to the structure of stations and platforms, there are a numerous range of applications that require quality gas struts and dampers. This is where Camloc Motion Control comes in.
At Camloc, we have extensive experience working closely with industry leaders across the rail sector, delivering advanced motion control solutions for a variety of different projects. The rail sector doesn’t compromise on its high and exacting standards, and neither do we.
Providing bespoke solutions that meet our clients’ needs is what we do best. We understand the demands of this industry and how our solutions need to maintain their functionality when faced with the daily wear and tear the rail industry experiences.
During the last 25 years, our highly skilled team has worked closely alongside engineers in the railway industry, contributing to the design of strong, durable, high-impact and vandal-proof maintenance equipment. How our products work in the rail sector
At Camloc Motion Control, our focus and mission has always been to offer modern manufacturing techniques from our base in the UK. Our experienced team supply some of the largest railway manufacturers in the world with the full spectrum of rail motion control solutions. Our engineers will work with you to provide a solution which exceeds expectations.
In terms of the variety and demands of the rail sector, some of our work includes areas such as universally accessible toilets, which require a focus on safety and easy access for maintenance. Our motion control solutions provide an array of safety benefits, such as assistance with lifting of potentially heavy access panels. When working inside an enclosure, the Econoloc’s safety locking shroud is manually released by applying thumb pressure to the designated area, allowing the gas spring to compress in a controlled manner.
We also take pride in understanding exactly how each application will be used, which is why we strive to provide peace of mind for our customers and yours. We recognise that, within the rail industry, safety, mobility and endurance are key.
Our Swift and Sure standard range, has been used to provide motion control solutions for customer facilities, such as baby changing units, offering the end-user a controlled rate of movement and oil damping towards the end of the stroke due to a hydraulically cushioned zone.
Our team understands that gas spring and damper solutions are required on Tube and train stations, outdoors as well as indoors, and in locations where some of the harshest environments are found – our stainless-steel option gives increased corrosion resistance. Manufactured in 316L, our stainless-steel gas springs undergo rigorous testing, including 1,000 hours of salt spraying to ensure they live up to the challenge of harsh environments.
With efficiency and time-saving demands on railways increasing, prioritising maintenance – and importantly employee safety when performing maintenance – is a primary concern. Our gas springs and dampers provide this level of safety in many different formats. For example, to ensure safety when working inside an enclosure, the Econoloc eliminates the need for separate safety rods through positively locking when fully extended, protecting the operator from potential injury in the event of overload or misuse.
